2025 OUR INDUSTRY CHARITY URGENTLY NEEDS YOUR HELP MORE THAN EVER

Next year will mark the 95th anniversary of The Motion Picture Industry Benevolent Society. For all this time, the Society has provided help to Cinema Industry workers struggling to maintain a modest standard of living, and to cover urgently needed medical care. This assistance may include hospital treatments, pharmaceutical, optical and dental costs. Help is also provided with Vital Call emergency pendants, rent assistance and even urgent house repairs.  Most importantly, it should be noted that this financial assistance provides huge emotional support to our beneficiaries.

Everyone is affected by the rising cost of living, none more so than our Beneficiaries. And consequently, Benevolent Societies such as ours are affected too as we see a decline in donations, the only source of income enabling us to maintain our essential work.

Donations from colleagues across Cinema Exhibition, Distribution, Production and Post Production continue to be our primary source of funds. But we are especially thankful for donations from individuals – some not even from the cinema industry – who continue to support us as fundraising becomes ever more challenging.

Since July 2024, the cost of supporting our Beneficiaries has exceeded donations received. Therefore, I make a very strong appeal to you to do whatever you can to support the vital work of our Industry’s Charity by making a donation this year.
