Join The ASSG!

Membership of the Guild is open to anyone capable of making a contribution to the aims of the Guild.
Objectives of the Guild are to maintain, recognise, promote and facilitate original and creative work and achievements among persons involved in the professions of screen sound.
Each year the Guild holds an Awards night to highlight the work of Guild Members. Submission into the ASSG Awards are only open to financial members of the Guild.

There are 3 types of memberships you can join the guild under.
Full

Individuals who have made a substantial professional creative contribution to the profession of screen sound for at least five years in Australia, or can demonstrate equivalent qualifications as determined by the committee.
Full members are able. to vote at general meetings, and be appointed or elected as an office-bearer or ordinary member of the committee.
Full membership fees are $120 annually

Associate

Individuals who do not qualify for full or any other class of membership.
Associate membership fees are $120 annually

Student

Individuals undertaking a relevant full-time course of study at the time of application, and who can provide proof of their student status to the committee, and limited to retaining student membership for a time period determined by the committee.
Student membership fees are $30 annually

Before you get started, here’s some things you’ll need for your application

A current CV with your screen sound experience
An ASSG Member’s name and member number that seconds your application

How the process works

New member applications are reviewed in the committee’s monthly meeting
(these are generally the first or second Monday of the month except December & January)
After, you will receive an email stating weather you have been excepted or not.
If accepted, you will be given instructions on how to pay your membership fees, and be able to access all our membership benefits.

Current fees are $120 for Full/Associate Membership and $30 for Student Membership.

Fees are paid per financial year.

Membership applications are reviewed by the ASSG executive committee, on the first Monday of every month (excluding December & January).
