Working Group Meeting – Skills Shortages & Training Needs

The ASSG is forming a dedicated working group to address skill shortages and strengthen training opportunities for the next generation of sound professionals. As the industry evolves, it’s crucial that we ensure new and existing talent are equipped with the right skills to meet the demands of both location sound and post-production.
We want to hear from you—whether you’re a seasoned professional, an educator, or someone passionate about the future of sound. What challenges do you see in hiring and training? What skills are missing in the current workforce? How can we create better pathways for newcomers while supporting those already in the industry?
Join us for an open online meeting on Friday, 7th March at 7 PM (AEDT) , where we’ll discuss these issues, share ideas, and explore practical solutions to help secure the future of our sound community. Your input is invaluable, and together, we can make a real impact.
